Describe your role at Intuita

I work on a number of different clients, helping them to get the most out of their data solutions; I’m constantly looking to improve the way they process, store and use data to add value to the business. This can vary from analysing the business requirements and understanding the problem, to developing, testing and deploying final solutions. A big part of my role is communicating with business stakeholders to really understand the situation, but also helping individual users get the most out of the assets.

What does a normal day look like for you?

A day can be quite varied with a combination of work on several clients and also internal aspects of Intuita. This could be progress meetings within my teams or to update clients. Then working on a proof of concept for a particular solution or getting stuck into the analysis of existing data models to understand the gaps, perform data quality checks and test how they meet the requirements. A large part of the job can be understanding the data and the rules it follows (or should follow!), which often gives you a great insight into the business and what they want to use it for. This is when we can really make a difference by becoming experts in what the data is doing and saying and figuring out where this is going wrong.

What’s your favourite part of the role?

I like the variety of industries, problems and technologies that we get to work on. I really enjoy learning new things and tackling new challenges, so knowing that each problem will be very unique makes the work exciting. Being surrounded by experts in the full end-to-end data lifecycle also means I get to learn from some of the best and can get more hands-on experience in parts that I am less familiar with.

Name 3 things that you couldn’t work without and why:

  1. A notepad and pen to scribble my crazy ideas on
  2. Noise cancelling headphones for when I want to get stuck in and focus on something
  3. Two monitors so I don’t get lost in loads of open windows
